Bathing Suits Galore

For the last of the vacay pictures, I brought out all of my long-neglected bathing suits to play. Some of my favorites including those by Made by Dawn, Mikoh, and BeachRiot. Now, back to the wool coats and cashmere scarves of real life.

Thanksgiving in Barbados

I mixed it up this year by spending Thanksgiving week on the beach in Barbados instead of at a table covered in turkey and stuffing. It was an amazing place, and a much needed break from the freezing cold of NYC! I brought my ruffled Merritt Charles shorts which I lived in all week long if I wasn't wearing a bathing suit!

Meatpacking NYC

I have really been loving this brand SWF since I discovered them- they have some really cool, simple designs, including maxi dresses, structural crop tops, and some great jumpsuits. I especially love this turtleneck ribbed maxi dress, which is so versatile and can be worn in such a variety of ways! I styled it here with just a simple vintage denim jacket and some low peep-toed booties for a casual day wandering around Meatpacking, but I can definitely imagine dressing it up for a holiday party as well as layering it under a chunky  knit sweater and warm coat for the current 30 degree weather we have now.

Olive

One of my favorite colors to wear is olive green. Some people can't stand the color, but I find it to be subtly beautiful. I think it is such a great neutral, and especially ideal for Fall. This drapey olive dress by S.W.F. Boutique is so perfect as we transition from summer to fall. It's length offers slight warmth, and the style looks amazing when paired with a fringey suede Ralph Lauren belt and western-style hat (although I generally think most things pair well with a western-style hat ;) ). I also look forward to wearing it even into winter, perhaps with some thigh high boots and a cozy over-sized coat to keep warm. I highly recommend checking out S.W.F. for their great selection of simple styles of dresses, tops, and pants with cool necklines and silhouettes that are so easily styled with everything.

The First of Fall

Last of the Summer Days...

And here are the final looks from the summer style archives. I have mixed emotions about this, as I'm sure most people do, since while I am sad to bid farewell to the days of silk tanks and breezy dresses, we also have oversized scarves and fuzzy coats to look forward to. I must say, am definitely excited for the upcoming season of chunky knits and layering.
Enjoy!

Monochromatic Summer Looks

As I was going through my photos on my computer, I came across some from the archives of summer that I never posted. There was a strong monochromatic theme throughout, so I thought I would go ahead and throw them on the blog before Fall weather fully sets in and we officially make the transition from crop tops to coats. I have a feeling we still have a few good days of summer dressing left of the season, so here are some muted outfits to serve as some warm weather style inspiration while we still have it!
