I was so excited about the arrival of my Stone Cold Fox sale score- the bullwhip romper. I have worn it multiple times since receiving it in the mail, and finally was able to shoot this look in it on my way to wine night with the girls last weekend. It is such a perfect summer staple, and so easy to just throw on and go! I can dress it up or down, for night or day, and even plan on wearing it well into fall with jackets, socks, and booties.

This look is one I shot on the streets of SoHo for Cream Style App, wearing clothes from the designers they carry. Be it a simple shirt-and-shorts combo, a pair of slouchy boyfriend jeans, or a breezy dress, these looks are a great go-to for when you need a little inspiration should you ever find yourself staring into the abyss  your closet for 15 minutes while complaining that you have nothing to wear.

On the Streets with LINE MAGAZINE

I am finally posting the looks I shot with Martina and Sarah from Line Magazine during my last trip home to Los Angeles. We headed over to Melrose for its excellent selection of walls to shoot this series of black and white looks- my favorite (anti)color combo right now!

Soho Saturdays

This outfit was a little SoHo shopping look- simple and colorless, but still with enough elements to make it a somewhat interesting combination. I thought the Isabel Marant window was a fitting backdrop for this drop-waisted, slouchy look, much like the signature style of Isabel herself.

This look is also quite affordable, almost all of the pieces are all from Zara, J.Crew, and H&M!

Leather = Better

In an age where vegan products abound and the term 'cruelty-free' is more popular than Kim Kardashians impending nuptials on Google search (okay, probably not), leather, fur and other animal sourced materials seem to be a luxury reserved for the morally depraved. Now my opinion on the matter shall remain null and void, but there are definitely some benefits to donning leather. 

The first, and most important, is that leather equals cool. It always has and always will, no matter how hard Stella McCartney campaigns. So long as there are still pictures of James Dean smoking a cigarette in a black moto jacket, leather will be cool. In a more modern context, let us consult Kate Moss in a second-skin leather pant. Go ahead and try finding something wrong with that image. This is why I decided to invest in a clean, ivory I.R.O. Paris leather vest. It transitions beautifully into all seasons and adds just a dash of enigmatic attitude.

I decided to pair it with a breezy pair of silk Mason by Michelle Mason trousers and my favorite Schutz sandals. And obviously only an industrial backdrop would have been correct for my leather topper obsession.

After winning a little Equipment France contest via Instagram, I didn't think twice about using my gift card prize to purchase this silk grid-print shirt. I'm in love with its minimal simplicity and black and white color palette. While I plan on wearing it with absolutely everything, on this particular day I paired it with some leather track shorts and wedge shoes.

NYC with a Touch of Southwest

Now that we're having an occasional warm day from time to time here in New York, I take every opportunity to wear ensembles that don't involve 700 layers of clothing. So I used this day to finally wear the little printed Blu Moon romper I got at Planet Blue in Malibu forever ago. 

I'm looking forward to wearing lots and lots of easy summer rompers and dresses in the upcoming months.
