Olive

One of my favorite colors to wear is olive green. Some people can't stand the color, but I find it to be subtly beautiful. I think it is such a great neutral, and especially ideal for Fall. This drapey olive dress by S.W.F. Boutique is so perfect as we transition from summer to fall. It's length offers slight warmth, and the style looks amazing when paired with a fringey suede Ralph Lauren belt and western-style hat (although I generally think most things pair well with a western-style hat ;) ). I also look forward to wearing it even into winter, perhaps with some thigh high boots and a cozy over-sized coat to keep warm. Monochromatic Summer Looks

As I was going through my photos on my computer, I came across some from the archives of summer that I never posted. There was a strong monochromatic theme throughout, so I thought I would go ahead and throw them on the blog before Fall weather fully sets in and we officially make the transition from crop tops to coats. I have a feeling we still have a few good days of summer dressing left of the season, so here are some muted outfits to serve as some warm weather style inspiration while we still have it!

Refinery29 x TJ Maxx

A few months ago Refinery29 contacted us to see if I wanted to come into their NYC office and use pieces supplied by TJ Maxx to help style this shoot based on different scenarios. Refinery29 stylist Willow Lindley and I had so much fun finding some great hidden gems at their stores, including pieces by Mother Denim, Halston, Marc Jacobs, and Torn by Ronny Kobo.

Bullwhip

 

  

 

I was so excited about the arrival of my Stone Cold Fox sale score- the bullwhip romper. I have worn it multiple times since receiving it in the mail, and finally was able to shoot this look in it on my way to wine night with the girls last weekend. It is such a perfect summer staple, and so easy to just throw on and go! I can dress it up or down, for night or day, and even plan on wearing it well into fall with jackets, socks, and booties.

Graphic Floral

This look is one I shot on the streets of SoHo for Cream Style App, wearing clothes from the designers they carry. Cream is an app that makes shopping super easy- we post street style photos in the clothing, and the user can purchase the item they like directly from the app. Everyone should check it out!

NYC with a Touch of Southwest

Now that we're having an occasional warm day from time to time here in New York, I take every opportunity to wear ensembles that don't involve 700 layers of clothing. So I used this day to finally wear the little printed Blu Moon romper I got at Planet Blue in Malibu forever ago. 

I'm looking forward to wearing lots and lots of easy summer rompers and dresses in the upcoming months.

Stripes on Stripes

                         

The location for this look took place in the Bobby Berk Home store in SoHo in NYC. When I put these striped pants on I was unaware that I would show up somewhat matching the wall. But it ended up working out wonderfully because it made a cool-looking backdrop for the photos. 

The sharp lines and angles of my outfit reflected the style of the store's theme of bright colors and geometric pieces, and I fit in perfectly as I sat in a slick modern chair and happily sipped my tasty marg.
